The End - Summary
My favorite discoveries were the instant messaging - that was fun! Also, the lifelong learning was very interesting. I didn't know that some of those websites even existed! I feel that by participating in this program that it has sparked an interest and I would like to learn more. I think that this program was great and I can't think of anything to improve it as of now. If the library offered a similar program in the future, Yes I would choose to participate.
Thing#10-Roselle's Virtual Library
The first article that came up on Newsbank was "Mark your calendar Things to do in DuPage County Today Tuesday - 14 Wednesday -15.
Yes, I can figure out from the results who was the President. I knew that the President was the one who was born in Kentucky and also because of his age being 52.
I also explored the database Novelist. I thought it was really neat because my Aunt is an author and I was able to pull up most of her books on this database. She is a romance writer and her name is Vicki Lewis Thompson.
I think that the database -World Book Online Reference Center would be the most popular and the database - Thomas Register would be the least popular.
One new thing I learned was that the website provided the most recent additions to the library's collection.
I don't know of anything to add to our library's website at this time.

Thing #9 - Lifelong Learning
On the WebJunction site, the course that I found interesting would be Conflict in a Peaceful Library.
Yes, I would be interested in taking a course as a group
On the 7 and 1/2 habits online tutorial the easiest habit for me would be #2-Accept responsibility for your own learning and the hardest habit would be #3-View problems as challenges.

Thing #8 - Online Apps.
Google Docs and MS Office are similar. However, one of the differences is that Google Docs allows anyone that you invite. Also, Google Docs allows you to get an edited document to a large amount of people in a short amount of time.
Yes, I would use Google Docs as an alternative to MS Office.
I think that we could use Google Docs at my job at the library. One of the ways would be for our department's weekly schedule, so everyone can refer to it and view any last minute changes to it. Another idea would be to use Google Docs for our communication log (daily updates or things happening in our department.) We could all access it and edit any changes easily.

Thing #7--Wikis
I really liked the concept of Wikis. What I found interesting about Wikis is that there is a wealth of information gathered in one place instead of scattered around.
Yes, I found the Wikipedia entry for Roselle, Illinois. I actually learned some of the history of Roselle that I did not know before.
The Schaumburg and Park Ridge Library's Wikis for Learning 2.0 were each different and held a lot of information for the Learning 2.0 program. I think that a Wiki does not make more sense for this program because a blog is easier to maintain. It takes a lot less time to organize.
The Wiki format at Roselle Public Library may be useful in different ways. One of the ways may be to have a Wiki for staff only to communicate about different aspects of the library.

Thing #6--IM
I have no prior experience with IM and I have not used any other IM programs. I really like the idea of IM as a mode of communication. However, it is something that you would have to familiarize yourself with and learn all of the abbreviations. I think that using IM would be fun! Yes, I think that IM reference is a valuable service. It would probably be a quicker way to find out the information you needed and to talk to other people at a fast pace.

Thing #5: Podcasting & Video sharing
http://www.mediafly.com/Podcasts/Episodes/The_American_Country_Countdown_Recap_Podcast_for_Monday_February_6
This podcast is by Kix Brooks and about country music, country stars, history and top country songs on the chart. I find this podcast interesting because I have a love for country music and also like to keep up to date with it.
What surprised me about podcasting was that I didn't know it existed and that it is absolutely free, too!
You can use podcasting as tools in the Library to keep up to date with the latest books and movies. Also, to keep up with the reviews on them to know which ones to buy.

Thing #4
I picked this picture of a Yorkshire Terrier puppy because my Mother-in-law has one and this picture reminds me of her dog when she was a puppy. Her name is Angel and she is the most sweetest, lovable and precious dog ever. What is nice is whenever we think of getting our own puppy we just visit or babysit her. We enjoy the time with Angel and then we send her home.

Thing #3
Hi everybody. I'm Polly Pocket. I set up my facebook today. What surprised me was how fast you can make friends and how quick the messages appear. I think people like to meet new people and that makes social neworks popular.

Thing #2 RSS
I like the fact that you can get daily updates from some of your favorite websites. I could use this technology in my personal life to keep informed on some of my favorite interests. I could use this technology in the library to keep informed on the latest books, etc.

Thing #1 Again
This is my first experience with blogger. The library blogs I visited were: http://feelgoodlibrarian.typepad.com/feelgood_librarian/ and http://libetiquette.blogspot.com/.
I thought they were very interesting and I could really relate to what they were describing about day to day happenings at their library. Also, with as little information that I know about blogs so far, I would have to say that they are a good thing. As well I visited http://librarygarden.blogspot.com/.

Thing #1
I did it! This is my first blog and it was way easier than I thought it would be. I am looking forward to learning more new "things."
